Do you have your eye on a particular mission, path, or goal?
Deciding to accomplish something is one of the most wonderful, terrifying things that we will do as humans. It could be anything – from graduating from school, finishing a project you started, or changing the way we eat or exercise our bodies. Whatever it is, when we choose to do something in the long term, there are going to be bumps along the way. The Daruma doll is there to accompany you on this journey. When hardships do arise, you need only look at your Daruma’s beautiful, eye and be reminded of the courage you had when you decided to begin this journey.
The goal that you and your Daruma set your sights on belongs completely to you! You have chosen it, and it is yours to complete! And yet studies show that humans who are attempting to accomplish various tasks do so best when accompanied by others. For this very reason when you buy a Daruma you also become connected to a growing community of dreamers and visionaries like yourself. This is incredibly important!
One research study published in February of 2016 analyzed conversations from an online community of over 1400 members that were working together towards improving their health. They found that member-generated communication supported sociocognitive constructs from more than one behavior change model. In other words, messages people were posting to one another were promoting real changes in behaviors in ways that cognitive scientists and psychologists have been studying for years.
Sharing your goals and helping to motivate others online doesn’t just work for health purposes! Another study looked at a group of surgeons in training who were taking a course in Laproscopic Surgery and needed motivation to practice. They used an online networking and collaboration tool and found that the surgeons were much more likely to practice events and training time if they were involved in the online support community, versus those who weren’t.
We hope that you will be able to meet people from near and far once you become part of the Daruma doll online community. Reach out! Share your goal! Make friends, support others, and offer and receive advice. According to the research – it works!
